Market CentralMarket Central is a 501(c)3, dedicated to supporting the Charlottesville City Market. Our programs strengthen the connections between customers and vendors, enhance the market experience, and encourage the development of a plan for a permanent home for the market. Our "First Class City" deserves a first class market, and we're working toward this goal. We're a membership organization: dues are $10 annually, and you can join and pay dues on our website, www.marketcentralonline.org. We welcome input from all stakeholders in our farmers market, and hope that you'll stop by our booth at the City Market (next to the Market Manager's tent) on Saturday mornings and give us feedback and suggestions.http://www.marketcentralonline.org

massapeeljamMass A'peel-Jams With a Twist is the brainchild of Larissa Sneathern, a Charlottesville resident, and her mother, Patti Paule-Carres, of Winchester, VA. In the fall of 2009, Patti's indoor kumquat tree produced fruit, so they decided to make marmalade. It was so delicious and fun, that they began to create a line of micro-batch marmalades. Every product contains some sort of citrus peel (thus the marmalade designation), however it is paired with totally unexpected, unconventional ingredients - fruits, herbs, liquors, etc... In truth, Mass A'Peel's products are hybrid marmalades, or as we say: jam with a twist!http://www.massapeel.wordpress.com -

NightSkyFarmI am a cheese-maker and dairy farmer in Brookneal, VA. where we milk 36 dairy does and one Jersey cow! The cheese room produces a variety of goat and cow cheeses; all fresh, pasteurized and vacuum sealed. Our aging room should be completed this year so by Fall 2010 we can begin to offer a few aged cheeses. Our cheeses at times incorporate fresh herbs, fruit or nuts which are either obtained locally or grown here on the farm this keeps our money at home supporting the local community. We purchase our animal feeds; grains and forage, locally as well. Never do we feed hormones and only administer antibiotics when necessary, with-holding the milk from the cheese room for the proper length of time.http://www.nightskyfarmgoatcheese.com
